I love buying art books.

In late 2025, I discovered a book series called #hardcover. The books, released annually, include erotic art submitted by multiple artists. Although I ordered the books in September, it took months to receive them (long story).

In the meantime, I discovered that the publisher had a Discord group related to the project. Discord, I had recently learned, is a social media platform geared towards artists, a bit like Flickr is a social media platform geared towards photographers. I had joined Discord earlier in 2025 to follow the author of RavenSaga, a Webtoon that I like, so I decided to join the hardcover group too.

After a while, I discovered that they host a monthly drawing challenge, where they provide a reference photo and members can submit their inspired works. To be frank, at first I found the idea quite intimidating, as some of the submissions are just amazing. Way beyond what I can even imagine creating myself. Eventually though, I decided this could be a good motivation to attempt to learn to draw more from imagination.

I made my first attempt in February 2026 and hope to make this a monthly part of my practice.
