Sunny was the second traveling model I hired for sketching after she contacted me on Model Mayhem.
She was wonderfully gracious, and like the other photo models I have worked with, she had never tried modeling for sketching. She not only liked it, but hoped to return with her modeling partner, who she also wants me to draw. Such a compliment!
I look forward to meeting her again sometime soon.
UPDATE: I met Sunny for a third session at her home in Zurich, and at that time got the opportunity to draw Emily, Sunny’s modeling partner. Such a wonderful experience!

Preparation sketches from photo references
When I work with professional photo models, I like to prepare in advance by sketching from photos in their portfolio. Since I know I’ll only have a limited time to work with them, this helps me to familiarize myself with their proportions.
Plus, I can do analysis by comparing my sketch to the photo reference, which helps me see (and, hopefully, eventually correct) my most common mistakes.
