Denisa reached out to me on Instagram before she had planned a visit to Copenhagen. She had seen some of my photography work, but once she understood that I draw now, she admitted that she’d like to try that.

When I offered to pick her up at the airport and mentioned I’d be coming in a Tesla Model 3, she got excited, as she loves the brand. That started a fun text conversation about nerdy things that get us both excited.

Needless to say, I felt like I was picking up an old friend when she arrived. As it was my first time drawing her, and I had only just started working with colored pastels, I drew her first with charcoal and next with color, showing her the results of each.

Having seen both, she admitted her preference was the color, and it was great fun continuing to learn to use it with her.
